The Game of Life – An Impossible Idea

Recently while on my way to uni I was thinking of what is probably the most ambitious “game” ever designed, what I like to call the game of life. This project isn’t so much a game but more-so a simulation of human behavior in a three-dimensional interactive form which lets you control any aspect of it via an incredibly powerful Pc which probably hasn’t been invented yet.
Firstly this concept is completely hypothetical however it’s actually fun to think about the results if this simulation were real.
I’ll try to make understanding this concept easier by introducing one aspect at a time starting with the people in it. To visualize this project firstly think of a person, any typical person and then isolate everything about them that makes them human such as: Personality, Hair Color, Likes, Dislikes, Emotional Tendencies, Perks, Ingenuity, Size, absolutely everything and use them as variables in the game with a moderately random realistic range. Just taking a wild guess but i’m estimating it would take around 10k variables to sum up human behaviors and interactions.

Has Minecraft gone down a Notch?

Minecraft 1.8 part 1 is out, but is it everything we expected? I sure don’t like a few of the new features included in the update. One being the new terrain generation, and another the ill-fitting chests. I’ll look into these new features below in more detail and question why Notch has taken Minecraft in this new direction.

Mw2 Multiplayer only choosing American Hosts?

If you played Modern Warfare 2 as much as I do, then recently you might have noticed increased lag in almost every game you tried to join. The game is now choosing American hosts more than ever the past week or so, leaving every other player at one bar (out of 10) which is equivalent to around 200ms of ping making it almost impossible to play. Thousands of players are very angry about this change and the fact it appears that the code has been changed to ONLY pick American hosts, even if every other player is lagging hard at 200ms ping. I believe games should be created fairly and not give an edge to American players just because the game is made there, as eventually it will drive every other player away from it.

Mw1 vs Mw2 vs Mw3 – A comparision blog

COD 4 otherwise known as Mw1 is the first game in the “Modern Warfare” series, it’s been commonly referred to as the best thought-out and designed of the Modern Warfare games, so far. I’ll be comparing the three games of the Modern Warfare series against each other to work out why people like Mw1 over Mw2 and what Mw3 should have to satisfy the gaming population’s needs.

Modern Warfare 3 vs Battlefield 3 – All out war… For your money

The battle of the year has begun with Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 in an all-out war for sales around the 8.11.11, being MW3’s release date. Both games have shown gameplay trailers of around 10 minutes in length, with battlefields coming out first and supposedly scaring the team at Infinity Ward into creating one. But most gamers are only interested in the multiplayer content and they’re saying that Modern Warfare will just be a re-skin of the other Modern Warfare maps, guns, perks and game modes.

Are Game Companies becoming Lazy?

Recently I’ve been playing some old classic Nintendo 64 games on my console, and we all love those classic’s right? Such as Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Goldeneye 007, Legend of Zelda, Super Mario and much more. However there’s one major difference between those games and games made today such as, Fallout 3, Modern Warfare 2, and the Halo series, and that is the Nintendo Games came out on cartridges that you plug into the console, not discs that almost every game today comes out on.
