Corsair 600T White Case Review

I’ve had my Corsair 600T case for about 2 years now and it’s NEVER let me down. From the beautiful white powder coating with awesome black trim to the incredibly solid steel frame of the case makes this a brilliantly appealing case for those who need a mid sized rig. Read on for more details on this case!

The moment I set eyes on this case I knew it would be perfect for me, a combination of the brilliant colors and sleek design made it really stand out from all the others I had previously looked at. The case has a very smooth looking front grille for the drive bays and dust covers as well as an optional one for the side of the case which you can switch between glass or a grille to place up to four 120mm fans on. There are also spots for 2 120mm fans on the top of the case or a single 200mm which is included and which both have white LED’s on them as well as one of the same on the front to draw in air and a single black 120mm fan at the rear of the case. You can also remove the top 200mm fan and exchange it for a corsair H100 water cooling block and two 120mm fans also which is very neat, but I would expect this case has full compatibility with other corsair products, although I had some troubles getting it to fit properly.

There’s a fan controller on the front of the case along with a USB 3.0 port, 4 USB 2.0’s a firewire port, 3.5mm headphone and microphone jacks as well as the usual power and reset buttons. I haven’t used the fan controller much because I have a corsair H100 water cooling block which has it’s own fan speed control on it, although in the future I might play around with it to change the fans speed.

This case has space for 6 hard drives with support for expansion if you buy a third hard drive bay giving you an additional 3 slots. If you have an SSD, they only take up half a slot, so you could have a maximum of 18 if you also purchased the expansion.

The cable management is also amazing on this case as there are well spaced grommets on the sides that allow the cabling to be neat and tidy hidden behind your motherboard which also increases airflow around the case. There’s also two on the back of the case for a water cooling setup that ventures outside the case. Unlike most traditional cases the hard drive slots are at right angles to the cd bays which also allows for additionally tidy cabling and less need for longer SATA cables.

Corsair have also included a lock complete with two keys inside the window of the case to stop people stealing components from your build when your not around, or at lan parties. It’s located on the top of the case, easily visible after you remove the top dust filter in the corner. (In the picture below)

I’ve forgot to mention how easy it is to remove the side panels as well! You simply pull down the little levers on each side and wallah! It’s also incredibly easy to replace as well, just simply do the reverse. If your wanting to replace the side window with an acrylic one like many people do, it’s very simple to remove the side panel clips and attach them to the acrylic to “pimp” out your case even further.

Overall this case is freaking amazing, I would buy another without a moments notice if something happened to my current one, although I spent awhile deciding if I should get the black or white version but now i’m incredibly glad I decided to go white purely because of it’s outstanding color and clean feel.

The only downside of this case I could possibly think of is it’s size, it’s pretty awkward to carry around, especially when it’s filled with many heavy and expensive components, although it’s no problem if your not planning on moving it often, otherwise I would recommend a small trolley or lan case carry bag for it.

I love the durability of this case, it feels extremely solid and well built and it can surely take a beating, (But why would you want to damage this fantastic case!) I can pick it up from the white plastic”ledges” on either side of the case with a good amount of heavy components inside without it even bending slightly! My previous case (A lian-li K62) had removable panels that often slid off while being carried and once slipped off during transit and damaged the 3.5mm ports on the top. Not this case however! The removable dust filters are well hidden and are very difficult to remove while moving the case, but are still very easy to clean when the need arises. I mean I even love the satisfying “click” when removing the dust filters which tell me if their back in place or not, it seems like every single piece of this case has been thought out extremely well. Excellent work corsair! Overall I highly recommend buying one of these cases if your in the market for a new one, although the price may be a little steep at $150-$180 I would surely fork out that much if I was designing a new build and didn’t already have this case.

Update 3 January 2013:

There isn’t much space for a third hard drive bay at the bottom of the case, mainly due to the cables coming out of my very long AX1200 PSU.
